Seasonal New Zealand Cuisine

Rohe - Fine Dining Experience

Rohe operates on the conviction that Wellington's geographic position - caught between the Wairarapa's volcanic farmland and the turbulent protein-rich waters of Cook Strait - produces ingredients that deserve a kitchen willing to work around them rather than impose on them. The restaurant speaks to guests celebrating significant evenings, to food-driven travellers who plan itineraries around tables rather than landmarks, and to Wellington locals who want a dining room that reflects the city's character without performing it. Every service here is built around the idea that a great meal is its own form of active engagement.

Rohe - Fine Dining Experience

Wairarapa Produce Programme

Chef Tūhoe maintains direct relationships with eleven Wairarapa farms, receiving weekly deliveries of stone fruit, heritage grains, and pasture-raised protein that determine the menu rather than fulfil it.

Cook Strait Daily Fish Selection

A dedicated line-fishing supplier based in Palliser Bay delivers species - blue cod, tarakihi, and hapuku - that change with the season and appear on the menu the same evening they arrive at the kitchen dock.

Pātaka Counter Dining

Twelve seats around a single kitchen counter run a distinct six-course tasting sequence each night, where guests eat in the chef's sightline and every dish is explained by the cook who built it.

Harbour-View Split-Level Dining Room

The 110-seat main dining room steps down toward a full glass frontage over Wellington Harbour, so the light - harsh at midday, molten at dusk - becomes a live element in every meal served there.

Pre-Theatre Express Service

A dedicated 60-minute two-course service runs from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. for guests heading to the nearby St. James Theatre or BATS, delivered on a guaranteed timeline without compressing the quality of the kitchen's output.

Private Dining Room - The Strait

A nine-seat private room named for the body of water it faces hosts bespoke dinners for corporate groups and celebration parties, with a dedicated server and a menu co-designed with Chef Tūhoe in the week prior to arrival.
